Blane Warrene replied to Loic Jeanjean's discussion Anybody using social media to share their e-mail marketing campaigns?
"We like the auto-share option of distributing certain of our email newsletters directly to our Facebook and Twitter account. We are exploring the Facebook 'Like' integration as well - available within MailChimp."

Blane Warrene replied to Chad Bockius's discussion 5 Ways to Make the Most of LinkedIn (have others??)

Blane Warrene replied to InvestmentPal's discussion Why are you getting into social media?
"Matt is right on point - listening and monitoring (market intelligence) is as critical as the content creation and sharing of other's useful information on social media. The combination of all of the above is the driver and value behind social…"

Blane Warrene replied to Matthew Brock's discussion What to do about broker dealer who is slow in adopting rules
"While there is no sure fire medicine that will change the legal policies of a broker dealer, there are steps you can take, especially in regards to modern and emerging technology tools. From my experience as an executive within independent broker…"

Blane Warrene replied to Amy Sitnick's discussion Examples of B-to-B financial services firms using social media?
"Excellent question Eric - and we are speaking from our experience with our clients - who whether good or bad form - are not necessarily publicly sharing their specific strategies early in the game (at least out loud). However - as I noted in those…"

Blane Warrene replied to Michael W. Byrnes, Jr.'s discussion When it comes to social media (and all marketing) it pays to focus on a niche
"This is right on point. Especially in the are of partnerships. When a niche is identified that your business serves well with expertise and scalability, a few strong partners with mutual goals goes a long way for advocacy, building awareness and…"

Blane Warrene replied to Amy Sitnick's discussion Examples of B-to-B financial services firms using social media?
"We see this predominantly in the M & A segment of financial services. Examples would be broker dealers who structure institutional deals or help merge and/or sell advisory firms. Likewise - asset managers that cater to other institutional buyers…"

Blane Warrene replied to Susan Beatty's discussion Twitter widgets for company intranets
"If you are ever in doubt with a third party widget - if the site permits (which Twitter does) you can also run RSS feeds through a proxy server to bring Twitter content inside the firewall if you are blocking elements of the web destination."

Blane Warrene commented on Susan Weiner, CFA's blog post A top technique of financial advisors who blog successfully
"Susan we have found Feedburner and it's RSS and email subscriptions very valuable. They offer a nice layer of tools for the blog owner but also very simple interaction for the reader. I love the concept of driving previous text posts into…"

Blane Warrene replied to Trevor Heisler's discussion The efficiency of gathering news via social media has made investing easier and less challenging.
"This channel has certainly expanded what investors and advisors can get access to - however - one needs good filtering skills and an eye (and ear) for quality. Any new and mostly free communications medium brings with it a large volume of…"

Blane Warrene replied to Trevor Heisler's discussion Using LinkedIn as an investor relations tool

Blane Warrene replied to Stephanie Sammons's discussion Thoughts on "Likes" and "Retweets"?

Blane Warrene replied to Trevor Heisler's discussion Using LinkedIn as an investor relations tool
"The core value to LinkedIn (especially building a company profile) is the automatic tracking of the comings and goings of staff, promotions and activity. With the ability to link to blogs, presentations and video - it is even more compelling as one…"

Blane Warrene replied to Terry Golesworthy's discussion What is the ultimate value and effect of social media for insurers and other financial services
"The shift has occurred quite candidly while most folks considered "social" a fad or for leading edge adopters. A decade ago the brands we buy told "us" how to feel about their products. That has completely flipped to the buyer…"

Glad to hear you're keeping busy! It seems that more and more RIAs are adopting social media. How much interest have you seen from B/Ds?

Fi360 will be at FPA, but I will not be personally. I will be at T3. Hopefully, fi360 will have some new features to introduce at the show. We're working hard on a (late) fall release right now.
